Northern Valley Obstetrics & Gynecology is staffed with OBGYN Physicians and a Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner, who have a combined experience of over 30 years! They take comfort in handling your care. The group convenes expertise in general OBGYN care, high-risk obstetrics, special training in urinary incontinence, management of abnormal pap smears, perimenopausal symptoms and much more. Sensitive attention is also given to teen patients and their parents.

NVOG provides a soft, soothing, relaxing, non-clinical atmosphere. Every patient gets individual attention with open communication in a gentle compassionate manner. With this type of environment, the patients can benefit from the skills and knowledge of their practitioner. They are able to respond to individual patient concerns to help you feel secure and comfortable with the treatment you receive. Patient education and promoting good health is our ultimate goal.

Office hours are from 8:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. and 1:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. If you need to cancel or switch appointment times after hours, please feel free to leave a message on our answering system and we’ll get back to you as soon as possible. Please bring all insurance information with you (including insurance cards) to your appointment. Every effort is made to see you at your scheduled visit but occasional emergencies and deliveries may cause delay. We will strive to do our best to keep you from being inconvenienced.

Meet The Staff

Dr. Rory Trottier has been serving the Grand Forks community for over 10 years. He has earned his medical degree from the University of North Dakota, and growing up in Belcourt, he has strong ties to the state as well as the community. Dr. Trottier takes pride in getting to know his patients and taking the time and attention they need.

Kathy Detke, WHNP has been treating women of all ages in the Grand Forks community for over 16 years. With over 28 years of experience, she understands the needs of women and strives to keep them in optimal health. Kathy spends her time relaxing by quilting and playing with her granddaughter, Marley.

Alissa is an LPN who works directly with Dr. Trottier. She has years of experience in labor and delivery and offers our patients a vast amount of knowledge in women's healthcare needs. She is caring and compassionate and gives our patients the top-quality one on one attention that they so deserve. She and her husband, Phil, have two sons, Cayden and Carson.

Kerry is a Certified Professional Coder who is our Office Manager at NVOG. She tends to the business and financial aspects and keeps it running smoothly. Taking time to sit down with patients face-to-face and treating every patient’s financial situation individually is important. She is married to Dr. Trottier and has two children, Brendan and Austin.

Brenda C. is an MA who works directly with Dr. Henrikson and Kathy Detke, WHNP. She is the newest addition to our full-time staff and demonstrates a positive attitude and a smile the patients remember. Brenda and her husband enjoy spending time with her granddaughter, Jada.

Brenda B. is one of the newest additions to our great team. She works side by side with Cariann scheduling appointments and helping the office operate at its finest. Each patient is greeted with her warm smile and heart. Brenda and her husband, Jesse, have one son named Koehn.
